How To Wear: Red High Top Chucks
Chucks remind me of high school and college. Chucks remind me of beaches, cut off shorts and California vibes to the fullest. Converse, Chuck Taylor All Stars (the original name, named after basketball player and salesman Chuck Taylor) are an old school basketball shoe turned cool kid culture classics. That had a nice ring to it… 😉
However, over the years we have created countless different looks with the laid back casual shoe. Both high top version and low, we have taken the street style, low key slim silhouette and dressed them up, dressed them down, dressed them sideways, with suits, with dresses, even when they’re filthy. And actually, many of us (most of us probably, but I can’t assume, or can I? ;-)) would prefer them worn down and dirty.
I took a vote a few weeks back on my Instagram asking if people preferred to dress their Chucks up, or dress them down. Overwhelmingly, people voted “dress down” which I took as an opportunity to create some looks that are a little more dressed up and playful.
Anyway, I don’t wear my Chucks often anymore, but I am always looking for an opportunity to wear the clothes that I have, recreating looks that are unique to my style, and ultimately Wearing Who I Am.
I hope you enjoy this look wearing high top Chuck Taylors, and feel inspired to break yours out and wear them differently than usual.
